Welcome to 5th Grade!
Homework
All students will be required to read 100 minutes a week outside of school. Reading Logs are due every Monday, should be signed by an adult, and will be a graded assignment. Any unfinished class work will be considered homework for that day. Additional homework may be assigned at the discretion of the teacher. All assignments are due at the beginning of class. Late work will be checked for understanding, but will result in a zero.
Make Up Work
We believe attendance in school is crucial to learning. If a student misses school, it is considered his/her responsibility to find out what was missed and turn it in. Any work missed from an absence must be turned in on the third day after the student returns to school.
Conduct
Our general “rule” is simple: the student has the right to learn; the teacher has the right to teach. Actions that interfere with teaching/learning will be handled in the following order:
1st Reminder for the day = E
1-2 checkmarks = S
3-4 checkmarks = N
5 + checkmarks = U disciplinary action and possible referral to office
**Extreme situations may receive a direct referral to the office.**
